VISIT TO NORTHERN IRELAND SCIENCE PARK The 10th of December 07 meeting in the Innovation Centre was our usual well-attended Christmas festive event with mince pies and shortbread for all who attended. The topic of the evening was a talk given by Mr Mervyn Watley, Director of Corporate Real Estate & Facilities at the Northern Ireland Science Park. He gave us a very detailed overview as what has been going on in this area of the shipyard and the land adjacent to the Thompson Dry Dock & Pump House. After the meeting we were all treated to a guided tour of the Pump House and appraised as to the condition of the machinery and future plans for the building, including restoration of the old clock which can be seen on the roof in many old photographs, although I have been told it is not contemporary with Titanic. To avoid duplicating text may I suggest you visit the Science Park's website at www.nisp.co.uk. Here you will find all the information and details to bring you up to speed on this exciting venture. May I take this opportunity on behalf of the committee to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
