Dear Members,

A Happy New Year to all and welcome to our latest edition of CQD – Issue Number 36, and thank you to all our contributors.

Hopefully this edition contains items of interest to all our members.   If you feel that there are areas of interest that are not included then I would be most grateful if you would let us know in which way we can improve.

            As our society moves into the era of information technology it is great to see the increased use of our website.  One exciting development which will be posted there soon is ‘The Fines Book’ where you will be able to search for familiar names.

     Is the Ed Spence here the father of our former member Lily Spence who remembered carrying his lunch to him while he was working on Titanic?  It is fascinating to search for names and see what people were fined for.  Will you find ancestors there?

            Please continue sending your contributions to our journal – it is your work that makes us unique.
