June 2008
Annual Cricket Match and BBQ
Our 9th of June 08 meeting was, as usual, combined with our annual cricket
match and BBQ at the North Down Cricket Club in Comber. It was, by all
accounts, a great success, namely because the Belfast Titanic Society
actually won the match! Having said that, it was a hard fought game and no
quarter was given, the Comber team fought hard and fair. As usual the BBQ
was well presented with Jill & Jasmine Edgar and Tracy Beare supplying
both the society, and the opposing team, with copious amounts of food.
Slaving over the hot charcoal was our very own resident chef Eddie Gregory
and his young assistant Roland Murphy.
All thanks must go to North Down Cricket Club and Ian Shields for the
generous use of their facilities for what is becoming a very important
social meeting in our calendar.
Photographs kindly supplied by society member, Joe Cohen.
